We had a long weekend (or puente) last week as Monday celebrated the “Día de la Revolución”. We took full advantage and headed south to a small town called Tepoztlán. It was great to get out of the city for the first time and head down the highway to Cuernavaca with views of volcanoes in the distance. The town is cobblestoned and full of character with a nice steep hike up to the ruins of a temple on Tepozteco Mountain. We attempted the hike with the girls in backpacks and made it about halfway before mom (and dad) got a bit nervous about the little one and the incline. The boys returned and did hike up to the top, while the girls and I returned to our quaint casita to enjoy the sun, pool and views. We ate well, drank well, and relaxed from the craziness that our life has been the past three months!
